Coolest Thing I've Ever Seen

I come out of my building with Louie and on a window sill is a black squirrel (I've never seen black squirrels before until I moved to NY; they're so pretty). Louie is doing his thing and I'm watching the squirrel. It jumps on to a tree branch and then jumps back onto the window sill. From there it does something I've never seen before. It jumps onto the fire escape ladder and does a 360 on the rung!! It then quickly runs up the ladder.

Can you believe that? A 360? What a little gymnast! I wish I had a video camera for this. Man, it would have been great to catch that on film.

Still Full

Wow! My Thanksgiving was the yummiest so far. The ham that Lucy made and my turkey were phenomenal (I'm not going to be modest about my cooking; it was damn good). Lucy's mother-in-law made all the side dishes and they were also to die for. We had dessert fit for kings. We had tons of dessert including chocolate fondue. After we were all done stuffing our faces, we sat around practically passing out.

It was great!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now we have to gear up for Christmas!!!!

So What Have I Been Up To?

A little bit of everything, but mostly work. I slowed down this week. I only worked my regular shifts. For the past month and a half, I've worked a total of eight extra shifts. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it is an extra week's worth of work. I want to pick up a few more shifts and then take a break before I start school (well I have to get accepted first). Dan is now working with me on Saturday nights for some extra cash. It's like old times again! This extra cash is being utilized for savings, which makes us very happy.

I actually have Thanksgiving Day off, which I only found out about it a few days ago (very rude from my employer's part). Now that I have that information handy, I'm responsible for the turkey. This year we're going over Dan's aunt's house. I'm making a pit stop at my parents' place for a bit. It's going to be a long day. I have to be at his aunt's house by the latest 8:30 to put the bird in the oven. I can't be out too late because I work the next day.

Other than that, I haven't been up to much else. My hip is still bothering me, which takes exercise out of the equation (of course). I haven't been doing any hiking either (which I'm pissed about) because Sundays have become hectic for us. I haven't used my new trekking poles that Dan got for me! We did go apple picking two weeks ago, which was loads of fun. We went out yesterday, but didn't do much. So as you could see, the past few weeks have been pretty mundane. I need to change that.
